THREE DAYS

• Amazing views of the city from the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower.
• Catch the free City Circle Tram or the free Melbourne City Tourist Shuttle
• Get your dose of culture at the Melbourne Museum, NGV and Federation Square.
• Watch the sunset over the St Kilda Beach with a beer in hand at the Espy.
• Eat, drink and be merry on Brunswick St, Fitzroy.
• Stock up on souvenirs for home at the Queen Victoria Market.
• And, if you’re British, chances are you’ll find time to squeeze in the Neighbours Tour.


ONE WEEK

Melbourne goes footy mad in winter so head down to the MCG to catch a game and marvel at just how short their shorts are. If you’re making the trip in summer you can experience firsthand the cricket, the Australian Open, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, or admire the beautiful people (and horses) at The Spring Racing Carnival.
• Day trip to the aptly named Great Ocean Road. Book a tour or hire a car and admire the spectacular road that twists and turns its way along the coast and through a rainforest. Stop along the way to ooh and aah at the cute koalas, visit the world famous Bells Beach and take holiday snaps at the Twelve Apostles.
• Take a day trip to Phillip Island and watch the little penguins waddling ashore.
• Check out what’s happening at the Arts Centre
• Listen to uniquely Australian music at one of the many live music venues around town.

MORE TIME?

Melbourne is a city which, more than anything else has to be experienced, so if you’re lucky enough to have more time here take the time to chill out and soak up this amazing city.

Explore the back alleys and stumble across the coolest bars and cafes that are hidden from those less adventurous than yourself.

Eat, drink, shop and explore the following culturally diverse areas; Victoria Street, Sydney Road, Lygon Street, China Town and Smith Street.
The Immigration Museum, The Melbourne Zoo, Old Melbourne Gaol are also well worth a visit if you have the time.
